The Blue Knight is an American CBS Crime TV series, running in 1975 and 1976, starring George Kennedy as Officer Bumper Morgan. The show was based on the best selling novel by author Joseph Wambaugh and produced by Lorimar Productions. It was also inspired by the 1973 TV Film starring William Holden, which ran before the TV show premiered.

The Blue Knight is an American crime drama series that was broadcast by CBS from December 17, 1975, until October 20, 1976. It features George Kennedy as Officer Bumper Morgan. The series was based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Joseph Wambaugh and produced by Lorimar Productions. It was also inspired by the 1973 television miniseries The Blue Knight, featuring William Holden, which was broadcast before the series premiered. The series pilot (ninety-minutes, with commercial breaks) premiered May 9, 1975, and the series itself was selected as a mid-season replacement for Kate McShane. Although the series was renewed in 1976, it competed with ABC's Charlie's Angels (for the same market share, in the 10 P.M. EST network time slot).
