Not Going Out is a British television sitcom created, written by and starring Lee Mack. It has aired on BBC One since 2006, making it the second-longest-running British sitcom, behind Last of the Summer Wine (1973–2010).
The show began with Mack as Lee, an unambitious man from Lancashire; Tim Vine as his best friend Tim; and Megan Dodds as Kate, Lee's landlady in the London Docklands and Tim's ex-girlfriend. From the second series, Sally Bretton replaced Dodds as Lucy, Lee's new landlady and Tim's sister. At the end of the seventh series, Lee proposes to and marries Lucy, and from the eighth to thirteenth series, they live in Walton-on-Thames with their three children. As of series 14, the couple live together in a countryside house, and Mack and Bretton are the only two main cast members.
